Insightful interview, thanks for posting.

"I personally think Scott’s focus on harnessing ideas we already have, instead of always searching for new ways of increasing creativity is a very good one."

I couldn't agree more. The design community is definitely undergoing a much needed change in focus from the product to the process. More and more agencies and studios are letting clients in on their process and how they achieve their results. I think this transparency is healthy because a) it gives clients an idea of what they are buying from you and b) it builds the value into the work we do.

Thanks Alex, nice interview! Yes I also think it's great that these new online places with a high density of visual creatives now exist. I think it's wise to get yourself in there, participate and make it easy for people to find you there. But at the same time keep telling your own story with your own site, blog and social media and actively build (face to face) relations and reputation. I agree with Scott that reputation and respect are key ingredients for getting you where you want to be. Keep it up! Alrik // Viewbook.com

Thanks for the comments guys.

@Thomas - that's it - customization of your promotional methods to your own style and work process is a sensible way to go..

@Carl, I agree - 99% is a really great addition to Behance. I'm hopefully going to have an article up there soon myself, so looking forward to being part of that team.

Thanks for a great interview, Alex. It's nice to see so many different ways to promote yourself as an artist. There are more and more options to choose from as time goes on, which can help you to customize your promotional efforts to fit your style and your needs.
Cheers,

I think what he had done is awesome. The idea of organization and process and focusing on that to push creatives forward is really great.

I also love checking out their site 99 Percent (http://www.the99percent.com), which showcases interviews, articles and presentations by professionals on issues regarding creative process, organization, etc.
